The 18-hole golf course, was designed by Seve Ballesteros, opened in 1992 and is considered one of the top 10 golf courses in France, a real golfer’s paradise www.golf-pontroyal.com The televised Masters13 championships www.masters13.com is held here every October. In June 2010 a new 6-hole golf course opened, which includes a practice range of 260m with 42 mats, 12 on the upper level including one par 4, a total length of 930m - this gives the confident as well as the less confident golfer a good chance to practice and have some fun! You can book golf lessons at the club house. The club house hosts a bar and restaurant with views over one of the lakes.
You do not have to be a golfer to enjoy Pont Royal, as it is very much a place, where whatever your age, you should find something there to make your day a happy one, as there are lots of things to do at Pont Royal ie, swimming, biking, horse riding, tennis, badminton, boules, fencing, children’s clubs and lots more, but you might just want to chill out and listen to some music and read a good book on the loggia or by the pool! There is also a children’s playground near the restaurant square (look at the PR map in our big info folder)!
You are able to get access to the above mentioned activities via the P&V reception, but please note that all these are on a first come first basis, and you will need to contact the P&V reception directly to pay for these, but remember our 'private' communal pool is only a minute away!
If you go to the P&V reception you will also be able to get access to Wi-Fi, you need to pay for this, but you can use your laptop in their reception, at the bar by the lake while you enjoy a cool drink or two and at the restaurants.
At Pont Royal there are 3 restaurants, a bar by the lake, a convenience store with fresh bread, croissants and necessities, a small news agent as well as the PR tourist office. Check with them ‘What’s On’ at PR and they as well as the tourist office in Mallemort are always happy to give your pointer to ‘What’s On’ locally and not so locally. Worth a visit is definitely the big and very helpful tourist office in Aix (at La Rotonde) – but do have a look at the PR maps which will tell you where things are at PR!
You will find many wonderful markets to visit in the lovely little Luberon villages only a short drive away, and there’s one or several to visit each day of the week. There is a small market at PR twice a week during the summer season at the restaurant square, as well as there is live music/entertainment some evenings there too.
For your food shopping there is an Intermaché in Mallemort (5KM) and a Simply Market in Sénas (9KM), which is also open on Sunday mornings (most places are closed on Sundays)! At both supermarkets you will be able get cheap petrol.
Finally, we will meet and greet you at the gates of Pont Royal and after we have shown you a little of Pont Royal, we will take you back to our apartment to show you how the outside and the inside works. You will find a cool bottle of local Provence rosé in the fridge awaiting your arrival while you maybe have a good look in our big information folder...and the rest...
NB! We suggest that you print the pages of ‘Things to do’ as you might find these useful for your days out and about – and don’t forget to bring a good map!
NB! Bedding, towels and pool towels are included in the price based on 4 people staying. If more than 4 people are staying we will charge 35.00 Euro for each small or big person staying. We will give each of our guests 1 towel, 1 pool towel and bedding.
